This qualification is for those learners who already have a door supervisor license and their licence has expired or about to expire. If you wish to renew your licence with Security Industry Authority you would be required to undergo refresher training. Once you qualify the training you would be able to renew your SIA door supervisor licence.

Assessment
The door supervisor upskilling course is assessed internally for the physical intervention skills by the centre using a approved physical intervention package approved by SIA. The qualification is also assessed externally by examination papers set by the concerned awarding body.
You would be required to take two multiple choice examinations for the following modules:
- Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry: In this module you will be taught about how to be vigilant and respond to terror threat and alerts.
- Principles of Using Equipment for Door Supervisor in the Private Security Sector: In this module you will be taught and assessed how to communicate professionally using devices like radios and mobiles.
- Physical intervention: In this module your tutor will teach you the theory of physical intervention and the practical skills as well.
Unit 1: Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry
- Understand terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat
- Identify the different threat levels
- Recognise the common terror attack methods
- Recognise the actions to take in the event of a terror threat
- Identify the procedures for dealing with suspicious items
- Identify behaviours that could indicate suspicious activity
- Identify how to respond to suspicious behaviour
Unit 2: Principals of Using Equipment for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Sector
- Know how to use equipment relevant to a door supervisor
- Recognise equipment used to manage venue capacity
- Recognise the different types of personal protective equipment relevant to the role of a door supervisor
- State the purpose of using bodyworn cameras (BWC)
- Identify how to communicate effectively using relevant equipment
- Demonstrate effective use of communication devices
- Know what actions to take in relation to global (or critical) incidents
- Know government guidance in relation to global (or critical) incidents
Unit 3: Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry
- Understand physical interventions and the implications of their use
- Understand the risks associated with using physical intervention
- Understand how to reduce the risks associated with physical intervention
- Be able to use physical skills to protect yourself and others
Venues for door supervisor upskill training
The training can be conducted at any appropriate venue in London / Birmingham if it fulfils the health and safety and examination requirements.
We also conduct this training mostly every week, Sunday at our east London venue.

Will i get my result immediately?
No, you are likely to get you results within four working days.
Can i upgrade to door supervisor licence if i have a security guarding licence?
No, this qualification is only meant for learners who already have a door supervisor licence. If you have a security guard licence you would be required to do the full door supervisor qualification.
When can i renew my licence?
Once we tell you that you have passed the exams, and then you can renew your door supervisor SIA licence.
